Exelis has received orders valued at $7.6 million from ADS, Inc. on behalf of the U.S. Department of Defense through the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Tailored Logistics Support (TLS) program to provide mission command on-the-move systems. The systems will be used for undisclosed worldwide deployments. Called Global Network on the Move-Active Distribution, or GNOMAD, the system provides a broadband, satellite communication (SATCOM) on-the-move (SOTM) networked command and control connectivity.

Harris Corp. and Exelis, Inc. announced a definitive agreement under which Harris will acquire Exelis in a cash and stock transaction valued at $23.75 per share, or an approximately $4.75 billion enterprise value. The agreement has been unanimously approved by the boards of directors of both companies. The transaction is expected to close in June 2015 and is subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory and Exelis shareholder approval.

 Exelis has successfully delivered to the U.S. Navy the first nine full rate production, next-generation electronic self-protection systems for F/A-18 fighter aircraft.  

 Exelis has completed the acquisition of Celestech, a privately held technology development and engineering firm, with locations in Chantilly, Virginia and Phoenix, Arizona. Celestech's acquisition does not materially impact Exelis financial results for the second quarter of 2014.

Exelis has received a contract valued at more than $91 million from the U.S. Navy to begin full rate production on Lot 11 of the ALQ-214 electronic self-protection system for F/A-18C/D Hornet and F/A-18E/F Super Hornet fighter aircraft.

Exelis has received an award totaling more than $36 million to provide electronic warfare (EW) equipment, spares and support services to the Turkish Air Force. When fully definitized, the contract could be valued at up to $80 million.

Signal Sentry 1000, an Exelis product that detects and locates GPS interference sources in 3-D by using longitude, latitude and altitude, was deployed during Super Bowl XLVIII at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.

Exelis has successfully installed the latest operational software and certified mission data files for Exelis-built Advanced Integrated Defensive Electronic Warfare Suite (AIDEWS) systems in Chile, Oman, Poland, Pakistan and Turkey.

Exelis has successfully completed several software upgrades for the new Global Positioning System Next Generation Operational Control System, or GPS OCX. Integration and testing were recently conducted on iteration 1.5 of the OCX navigation, encryption and Mission Upload Generator, or MUG, software.

Exelis has received a $32 million, five-year IDIQ award to supply airborne surveillance radars, spares, support equipment and technical services to the U.S. Coast Guard.
