IDT reported revenue of $217 million for the fiscal third quarter of 2018, a sequential growth of 6.2 percent and 23 percent above the prior year's quarter. Revenue in the communications infrastructure market was down slightly from the prior quarter, reflecting softness in Asia.

As gas monitoring and control requirements have evolved, so too have the digital electronics and programmable logic controllers (PLC) that enable it. Capitalizing on this trend, Inert, an Amesbury, Mass. designer and manufacturer of integrated glovebox systems, has recently partnered with Siemens to centralize their approach.

GLOBALFOUNDRIES (GF) announced that its 45 nm RF SOI (45RFSOI) technology platform has been qualified and is ready for volume production. Several customers are currently engaged with this advanced RF SOI process targeted for 5G mmWave front-end module (FEM) applications, including smartphones and mmWave beamforming systems in base stations.

Wolfspeed grew revenue 30 percent year-over-year during the second quarter of fiscal 2018, to $70.6 million, which reflected strong demand for SiC devices for electric vehicles. The better-than-expected revenue was limited by production capacity, as the capital investment to double Wolfspeed’s capacity won’t be fully online until the end of calendar 2018.
