IC foundry sales will keep hitting records through 2018

p> Worldwide foundry revenues for integrated circuits were expected to rise 13% in 2014 to a new record-high level of $47.9 billion, after increasing 13% in 2013 and 18% in 2012. These estimates are from the new 2015 edition of The Foundry Almanac, a jointly produced annual report by the Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA) and market researcher IC Insights.  The seventh edition of The Foundry Almanac forecasts IC foundry sales to grow 12% to reach another record high of $53.7 billion in 2015.

Keysight Technologies and Kwangwoon University Radio Research Center Co-host 5G and mmWave Workshop

Keysight Technologies Inc. announced it co-hosted a 5G and millimeter-Wave (mmWave) workshop with Kwangwoon University Radio Research Center, Seoul, South Korea. The 5G event, held in October, was the first co-hosted event in the region with over 190 in attendance. The event theme ‘‘Taking 5G from Vision to Reality” focused on 5G and mmWave research, solutions and technologies.

L-3 S. Calif. Microwave’s MICRO secure digital data link selected for U.K. MOD’s Desert Hawk III

 L-3 Southern California Microwave announced that it has been selected by Lockheed Martin’s Mission Systems and Training (LM MST) business to provide its MICRO Secure Digital Data Link (MICRO SDDL) as the secure command & control and ISR communications backbone for the U.K. Ministry of Defence’s (MOD) digital Desert Hawk III DDL small unmanned aircraft system (SUAS) platform.
