 Linear Technology Corp. announces the LTC3887-1, a dual output synchronous step-down DC/DC controller with I²C-based PMBus interface for digital power system management. The LTC3887-1 differs from the previously released LTC3887 by providing a three-state PWM signal, enabling the use of DrMOS, power blocks or similar power stages. The LTC3887-1’s enhanced feature set includes a 70ms power-up time and a fast ADC mode that provides an 8ms update rate for one parameter.

Noise eXtended Technologies (Noise XT) has introduced the 2 MHz to 7 GHz SLC ultra-low jitter/dual clock synthesizer. The SLC is an affordable single or dual clock USB synthesizer with outstanding jitter in a small package. With a noise floor of -170 dBc/Hz at 10 MHz, the SLC has the lowest phase noise of any synthesizer in a compact, low cost package. The SLC measures just 85 x 110 x 200 mm.

dB Control, a defense electronics manufacturer, was awarded a large contract by a major Asian military customer to design and manufacture high-power traveling wave tube (TWT) transmitters for an airborne program. Terms of the contract prohibit dB Control from naming the customer and product specifications.

Agilent Technologies Inc. announced the availability of a powerful new automatic fixture removal (AFR) option for its PNA Series network analyzers. Previously available only in Agilent’s Physical Layer Test System (PLTS) software, the error-correction technique is the industry's fastest, easiest way to accurately measure non-coaxial devices, saving engineers time and money.
