Agilent Technologies Inc. introduced the groundbreaking InfiniiVision 4000 X-Series digital-storage and mixed-signal oscilloscopes. This new series establishes unprecedented levels of flexibility and ease of use among units that use an embedded operating system.

Aeroflex Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Aeroflex Holding Corp., announced a new test system based on its PXI 3000 Series modular instrumentation, which has been designed to offer measurements over a 160 MHz bandwidth at operating frequencies up to 6 GHz. The new system is particularly suited for making R&D, design verification, and production measurements on wireless LAN (WLAN) devices based on the IEEE 802.11ac standard, extending Aeroflex's market-leading 802.11ac measurement capability in PXI to cover the optional 160 MHz bandwidth.

For generating synthesized millimeter wave signals, OML announces source module compatibility with the best-in-class Anritsu MG3690C series of RF/Microwave signal generators. Rohde & Schwarz now offers harmonic filter options for its R&S SMB100A microwave signal generator. These filters make it possible to achieve a harmonic suppression of more than –50 dBc over a wide frequency range from 150 MHz to max. 40 GHz. At low frequencies below 3 GHz, it is even possible to achieve an excellent –58 dBc.

Rohde & Schwarz has enhanced its fully integrated R&S SGS100A by adding a model for I/Q modulated signals from 80 MHz to 12.75 GHz. Combined with an I/Q baseband generator, the instrument can be used to generate test signals for all radio standards in this frequency range. As a result, the R&S SGS100A is ideal for X-band signals from 8 GHz to 12 GHz for radar and satellite communications. The I/Q modulator's wide RF bandwidth of 1 GHz makes it possible to generate pulses with high chirp bandwidths and steep pulse edges.
