Cobham is working with Harris Corp. to provide automated test and alignment capabilities for Harris XL-200P P25 radios using the Cobham 3920B Digital Radio Test Set. The Harris XL-200P is a multiband portable radio that supports P25 communications on VHF, UHF, and 700/800 MHz spectrum.

Anritsu Co. introduced new software for its Radio Communications Analyzer MT8821C that creates the industry’s first test solution that supports evaluation of 4x4 MIMO 256 QAM RF Rx performance for all DL 3CC CA band combinations with no restrictions on frequency and signal bandwidth combinations. The new software provides wireless chipset and UE manufacturers, as well as mobile operators with a solution to conduct efficient, highly accurate carrier acceptance tests to ensure performance.

ELVA-1, a European manufacturer of ultra-high capacity millimeter wave point-to-point wireless links, announced the availability of its flagship PPC-10G, 10 Gbps Ethernet radio link, to the U.S. market. Gilland Electronics, of Morgan Hill, Calif., has begun taking orders for the radio.

Ericsson is commercializing the world's first 5G NR radio for massive MIMO, with the first deployments coming in 2017. Together with the Ericsson 5G Plug-Ins announced in June and Ericsson's already commercially available Radio System Baseband 5216, which currently powers Ericsson's award-winning Radio Test Bed, Ericsson is first to deliver all components of a 5G access network.

Verizon announced completion of its 5G radio specification - the first U.S. carrier to do so. The specification is the product of collaboration within Verizon's 5G Technology Forum, a group that is working to define parameters for 5G specifications in advance of future standards. With 5G, end users will enjoy wireless service that delivers several gigabits per second throughputs and single-millisecond latencies.

Lime Microsystems announced that the crowd-funding campaign to bring its LimeSDR software defined radio platform into full-scale production has been a resounding success with over 120 percent of the goal pledged at the end of the campaign.

Analog Devices Inc. (ADI) introduced a low power, high performance, radio transceiver for battery powered applications. The new transceiver enables more reliable wireless radio connections with fewer retries and packet losses as well as longer battery lifetime. The ADF7030-1 features a highly sensitive receiver and superior immunity to signal interference as well as low power modes, including the industry’s lowest current in sleep mode.
