 Altair Engineering, a U.S. based engineering company, recently acquired EM Software & Systems-S.A. based in Technopark which sees FEKO, the electromagnetic field analysis software now becoming part of HyperWorks.  With this acquisition Altair will now have a local presence in the South African market, covering all sales and support activities in the region. 

As a result of the acquisition of EM Software & Systems - S.A. by Altair, the company has gained a local presence in Stellenbosch, South Africa with tremendous depth of industry expertise.

Altair has completed its acquisition of 100 percent of EM Software & Systems – S.A. (Pty) Ltd and its international distributor offices in the United States, Germany, and China. This development adds the FEKO^® solver to the HyperWorks^® suite.

An agreement-in-principle has been reached between Altair and EMSS, pursuant to which Altair will acquire 100 percent of EM Software & Systems and its international distributor offices in the United States, Germany, and China.

The market for chipsets containing LTE baseband processors has ramped up quickly, and is fraught with competition. 15 companies offer over 35 chipsets with LTE, from singlemode LTE chipsets to multimode chipsets integrated with application processors and wireless connectivity.
