Welcome to the April edition of The WaveGuide. Here in New England, the sun is shining, the flowers are blooming and spring is in the air. The Boston Marathon is around the corner and the baseball season marathon has just begun. The MTT-S IMS is rapidly approaching and our show issue is a wrap. It’s a great time of year.
MWJ’s April show issue is now on its way to you, and I must say that it’s one of our best ever. At a whopping 284 pages (who said print is dead?) it carries a great combination of show coverage, historical perspective, technical features, news, market data and product information. It also carries ads from more than 200 companies. Thanks for your support!
Last month I made mention of our IMS INSIDER newsletter launch for coverage of this year’s event. This newsletter provides exclusive sponsorship opportunities for exhibitors and is a great way to get your message out to attendees and to drive traffic to your booth. The first newsletter will be distributed on April 19th, with subsequent editions every Monday leading up to Microwave Week. We will also publish the newsletters every day of the show and follow-up with a wrap-up edition the week after. There are a limited number of newsletter sponsorships and they are selling fast, so contact your ad rep ASAP if you’re interested.
On the subject of trade shows, I’m happy to report that the RF/MW pavilion at CTIA last month was a big success. The participating companies benefitted from an excellent location in the exhibition hall and all reported good traffic and high quality lead generation. If you’re interested in learning more about this technology pavilion, contact Kristen Anderson.
Although our planning may currently be focused on the upcoming IMS, I urge you to consider the European Microwave Week event in your plans for the second half of this year. EuMW takes place in Paris, during the last week of September. Fall is not only a lovely time to enjoy the sights of this beautiful city, it’s also an excellent venue for this event. As the largest RF, microwave, radar and wireless event in Europe, it attracts more than 250 exhibiting companies and about 5,000 attendees from around the globe. If you’re interested in exhibiting, Kristen can tell you which booths are still available.
In this month’s WaveGuide, Sherry Hess of AWR writes on “How to Be a Good Blogger,” we share marketing thoughts from Al Maag of Avnet, Kristen Anderson shares her expertise on IMS logisitics, and editor David Vye describes the upcoming editorial opportunities in Microwave Journal. Enjoy!
Best,
