As part of its long-term strategy to bolster its industrial presence in the Nordic region, EADS, the aerospace and defense company, has established a new subsidiary and corporate office in Norway. To be known as EADS Norway NUF, the subsidiary will be based at Aker Brygge in Oslo.
EADS considers Norway to be an increasingly interesting market both in terms of industrial cooperation and commercial activities. The group has built up a strong relationship with a number of military and private Norwegian customers over the years, supplying naval radars, commercial aircraft, helicopters and other equipment plus associated services. Norwegian companies are already delivering important parts to the EADS product portfolio.
“Having a permanent representation in Norway will strengthen our relationship with Norwegian industry, government organizations and our customer base. I am therefore delighted to announce the opening of our new subsidiary and corporate office in Oslo,” said Hervé Garnier, Senior Vice President for Northern/Western Europe and Canada, EADS Strategy and Marketing Organization (SMO).
Hans Lüken, Vice President and General Manager of EADS Norway NUF, is heading the Norwegian operations for EADS after having worked for seven years as Managing Director of EADS South Africa (Pty) Ltd. He said, “I’m very grateful for the opportunity to take responsibility for such an important new organization. I am particularly looking forward to cooperating closely with Norwegian industrial partners, which are already providing indispensable contributions to the development of our products and services.”
