EADS Defence & Security (DS) and iASPEC Software Co. Ltd. have signed a contract to jointly provide a TETRA radio communication system for the Shenzhen Public Security Bureau. This network will be the largest digital trunked network for the police in China providing secure radio communications for more than 25,000 users in the city of Shenzhen.
EADS TETRA network, which features the next-generation DXT3 switch, a TB3 base station and a dispatching system, offers powerful integration capacity for data services and IP expansion possibilities. Shenzhen Public Security Bureau is the first system in China to be integrated with existing command centers. This solution will enable security forces to improve their emergency command and dispatching capabilities. Deployment of the EADS TETRA network has already started and the system will be put into service at the beginning of next summer.
François Begaud, head of secure networks in Asia Pacific, said, "We are very honored and happy that the Shenzhen Public Security Bureau has chosen EADS Defence & Security. After the double success of our digital trunked network during the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games and the 60th anniversary celebration of the People’s Republic of China, this new contract highlights the fact that our proven TETRA solution is the preferred one in China."
This contract demonstrates EADS Defence & Security’s commitment to a long-term development of Professional Mobile Radio systems in China. Cost-effective solutions, proven leadership in TETRA technology, innovative terminals and a strong local TETRA support team contribute towards the company’s leading position in the local market.
