Hittite Microwave Corp., a supplier of complete MMIC-based solutions for communication and military markets, has introduced eight new SMT packaged PLLs with Integrated RF Voltage Controlled Oscillators (VCO) that are ideal for Cellular Infrastructure, Broadband, LTE/4G and test equipment applications from 660 MHz to 5.1 GHz.
The HMC824LP6CE, HMC826LP6CE, HMC828LP6CE, HMC831LP6CE and HMC836LP6CE are SiGe BiCMOS PLLs with Integrated VCOs that provide output frequency coverage from 780 MHz to 3.7 GHz. Across the line, SSB phase noise is as low as -120 dBc/Hz at 10 kHz offset, with output power levels of up to +12 dBm.
Also released are three new SiGe BiCMOS PLL with Integrated VCO RFICs that feature tri-band outputs. The HMC820LP6CE, HMC821LP6CE and HMC822LP6CE are SiGe BiCMOS PLL with Integrated VCO RFICs that provide output frequency coverage from 660 MHz to 5.1 GHz, and deliver SSB phase noise as low as -115 dBc/Hz at 10 kHz offset, with up to +10 dBm output power. High output power and low spurious performance enables these PLL with Integrated VCO products to directly drive the frequency converter or direct modulator in many of today’s cellular/4G systems.
All eight of these new PLLs with Integrated VCOs operate in fractional or integer mode, providing the ability to develop high performance phase locked loops in the RF domain. Primarily designed for ultra low phase noise applications, the internal architecture includes a 19-bit RF N-Divider, a 24-bit delta-sigma modulator, a very low noise digital phase frequency detector (PFD), and a precision controlled charge pump.
Hittite’s new line of PLL with Integrated VCO products uniquely combine the attributes of low phase noise, wide frequency coverage, advanced features and ultra small size, making them ideal for numerous small form factor, ultra low noise applications.
