RFI China has been appointed as a full PTCRB laboratory for both GERAN (GSM) and WCDMA (3G) terminals. The company views this as being a major benefit for manufacturers in Asia as it means that that they can gain all the benefits of RFI quality without the approval having to be routed via the UK.

This appointment is in addition to the full PTCRB status currently held by other members of the RFI group (in the UK and in Taiwan), and is the result of a successful investment program in China to increase testing capacity for GSM and WCDMA technologies in line with customer needs.

In both China and Taiwan, RFI has invested alongside well known certification organizations (specifically the SRTC in China and Sporton in Taiwan) to create globally one of the largest and most diverse range of cellular platforms available on the market today.

In time the company plans to migrate other parts of its WCDMA testing to China, which will allow RFI to offer a flexible approach that reduces the end user cost for cellular testing. The company states that its objective is to offer European levels of service and quality at Asian prices.
