OEwaves Inc. has been awarded phase II of an earlier contract by Lockheed Martin Maritime Systems & Sensors, in support of a Science and Technology contract from the US Army Research Development and Development Command’s Aviation and Missile Research Development and Engineering Center to develop and demonstrate critical technologies that bridge the gap between existing capabilities and the Army vision for future protection capabilities. In this phase, OEwaves will deliver multiple brass board hardware as part of a complete program with a potential total value of approximately $5 M.
OEwaves’ unique microwave photonic technology simplifies the architecture of conventional microwave techniques by addressing the critical need to substantially reduce its size and power requirements. This is accomplished through the patented technology of ultra-high quality factor crystalline whispering gallery mode optical resonators. The small footprint of the product being developed serves to optimize the effectiveness of Lockheed Martin missile products and can impact other small platforms. “We are pleased to be moving forward in this challenging and exciting program,” said Lute Maleki, President and CEO of OEwaves. “We look forward to continuing our record of success with this new phase.”
