UK-based RFI Global Services, an independent provider of specialist testing and approval services to the cellular industry worldwide, continues to expand its range of test capabilities by taking delivery of the 19th test platform from Rohde & Schwarz. This is the first step in the company's aggressive development program to roll out 3.5G services as part of a commitment to provide first-class support for cellular technology development.
Worth over £500,000, the Rohde & Schwarz CRTU-W protocol tester is able to support all currently defined FDD regions and includes all the current test case packages that cover GCF and PTCRB. In addition, it supports all the currently validated HSPDPA test cases for 3.5G. In combination with RFI's existing CRTU platform it allows InterRAT testing that simulates handover from UMTS to GSM and vice versa and offers customers an alternative to the test house's existing Anritsu platform.
