PrismTech™, a leader in advanced software integration and infrastructure solutions, announced that the regulatory and certification authority for both Software Communications Architecture (SCA) and JTRS compliance, the Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS) Testing and Evaluation Lab (JTEL), has selected its Spectra™ 2 tools suite to assist with the testing and certification of waveform and platform application code. Spectra 2 is PrismTech’s end-to-end development suite for the modeling, code generation, testing and deployment of SCA-compliant software defined radio (SDR) applications. PrismTech's products "Power Netcentricity" and thus help optimize resource management and provide the superior information on events and conditions necessary to empower decision makers.

Spectra 2 tools were selected by JTEL to help automate and thus reduce its time and effort in its validation and certification of SCA-compliance for waveform and platform application code under consideration for the JTRS program. JTEL is the JTRS and SCA authority for the US Department of Defense JTRS Joint Program Executive Office (JPEO). All radios considered for the JTRS program must be tested and certified by the JTEL.

“PrismTech’s experience and expertise in working closely with the JTRS program, and specifically the SCA specification, were key factors in selecting Spectra 2 for our lab. Our selection of Spectra 2 aligns with our goal of increasing industry’s participation in the JTRS program and encouraging innovative and successful third party investments,” said Lisa Salisbury, JTRS Test and Evaluation Laboratory Project Manager, SPAWAR Systems Center, San Diego.

The Spectra 2 suite includes waveform and platform developer tools, high-performance, yet low-profile operating environments, and full support for the SCA. PrismTech is working with a large number of defense sector OEMs, programs and system integrators around the world and is receiving consistent praise for the ease of use, productivity gains and flexibility of Spectra 2.

“PrismTech has enjoyed a close working relationship with the program offices and prime contractor involved in the JTRS program for several years,” said Jerry Bickle, Chief Scientist for SDR at PrismTech. “We look forward to this new, key role in supporting the JTRS certification process and helping our customers to prepare for certification at minimum time, cost, and effort.”
