Anite, a global leader in testing technology for the wireless industry, and Renesas Design France (RDF), a provider of advanced wireless technologies and platforms, announced a strategic partnership in the field of Wireless Conformance testing.

RDF has selected Anite’s SAT(H) software test platform, a unique host test solution for 2G/3G Protocol Stack software, for the validation of the RDF 2G/3G dual mode Protocol Stack. The partnership will also see Anite using the RDF protocol stack as a reference design to accelerate the development of the conformance test cases required for the industry certification of wireless devices.

“RDF provides us with a state-of-the-art and mature 2G/3G Dual Mode protocol stack, which will be invaluable to our development programme,” said James Goodwin, product manager, Anite. “The partnership with RDF reinforces Anite’s lead in the wireless conformance market and will help us to continue providing the best possible test solutions for our customers.”

As the complexity of wireless technology increases, it is essential to adopt the most effective product testing regimes to control time-to-market timescales. The Anite SAT(H) platform supports Anite’s popular range of test and measurement applications, including Development Toolset, Conformance Toolset and SAS, and extends the range of testing that can be performed during the crucial early stages of protocol stack development. A key benefit of the SAT(H) approach is that protocol stack validation may take place in a purely software environment, providing high quality testing before the integration of the protocol stack with hardware.

“RDF considers that this partnership is fully inline with our commitment to provide our customers with a Protocol Stack meeting the high quality standards that the market requires,” said Philippe Laurent, R&D director, RDF. “In turn, this enables Anite to continue to improve best-in-class tools for the development and conformance markets.”

RDF’s Dual Mode Protocol Stack is compliant with 3GPP GSM/WCDMA and HSxPA specifications (Release 6).
