Avago Technologies announced a highly efficient, linear power amplifier for 18 to 33 GHz frequency ranges. The company is a supplier of analog interface components for communications, industrial and consumer applications. Avago’s AMMC/P-6333 is a high performance driver amplifier with very high gain and power coupled with excellent input and output return losses. These new amplifiers are built to allow design engineers to meet driver amplifier needs for broadband frequencies while eliminating the need for negative voltage requirements for better RF performance. Available in “bare die” or surface-mount packaging, the AMMC/P-6333 targets wireless communication infrastructure applications, including point-to-point radios, VSAT and fiber to the home.
The AMMC/P-6333 millimeter-wave MMIC is fabricated using Avago’s unique 0.25 μm enhancement mode PHEMT technology. The new MMIC provides high dynamic range support with excellent out power, superior gain and high linearity, broad frequency band support and low current consumption. It is available in a 5 x 5 surface-mount package or bare die, making the product easy to store, manage and integrate for a wide range of applications. These high-performance MMICs effectively support frequencies from 18 to 33 GHz and deliver a high gain of 20 dB and a high P1dB of 23 dBm. With 50 ohm matching and third-order intercept point of 30 dBm, the new amplifier is easy to use with a single positive voltage supply and DC power of 5 V bias at 220 mA.
