Paratek Microwave Inc., a technology leader in radio frequency (RF) components for mobile wireless applications, will be appearing at the 2008 IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium in Atlanta, GA, in Booth 2111. Paratek will be demonstrating its Passive Tunable IC (PTIC) technology in the form of two products.

First is the Adaptive Impedance Matching Module (AIMM), which is designed primarily for commercial portable mobile devices but can also be adapted for use in military communication applications. AIMM adaptively improves the impedance match at the antenna, which leads to longer battery life and talk time while reducing the number of missed and dropped calls. AIMM allows for markedly better performance from existing antenna designs, which allows handsets to get even slimmer and thinner. In short, the overall user experience is improved with mobile handsets equipped with AIMM.

The second product to be demonstrated is Paratek’s 30 to 512 MHz tunable filter. This continuously-tunable two-pole bandpass filter is designed for RF front-end communications and pre-selector applications and can be immediately integrated directly into a software-defined radio or used as an engineering sample to provide an easy-to-operate, self-contained package for rapid filter performance demonstrations or laboratory testing.

Both products will be demonstrated continually during the three-day show in Booth 2111 at the Georgia World Congress Center.
