ESI Group, a provider of physics-based simulation software, announced the release of the new version of its PAM-CEM Solutions software package. This product is aimed at performing realistic and predictive electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) simulations in various industries including aerospace and defense, electronics, transportation and telecommunications.
When dealing with industrial models, conventional strategies usually rely on either global (with standalone full-wave Maxwell modeling) or local approaches (with specialized tools focusing on induced effects on wiring). PAM-CEM Solutions is a unique software package able to mix both with 3-D time domain simulations well suited to reflected or diffracted phenomena and CRIPTE, and a dedicated Transmission Lines tool for cable networks. The new version also pays special attention to the management of large-scale models including several-dozen million elements (STL or NASTRAN files) and hundreds of wires (close to the real model), for 3-D computations featuring billions of unknowns.
“With the aim of offering always more predictive tools in electromagnetics, PAM-CEM Solutions is gathering all those enhancements identified by our industrial partners as key features on the road to realistic simulation,” said Jean-Claude Kedzia, PAM-CEM Solutions product manager.
Key enhancements to PAM-CEM Solutions
• Improved management of large STL models and NASTRAN files featuring several-dozen million elements, with a faster importing stage, easier management, etc.
• Full interactive addressing of cable networks, including dynamic allocation, management of different loads on terminal connectors, full specification of voltage and current generators (location and cable selection), generation of all data files with the display of cross sections and tubes content.
• In order to allow an efficient management of large-scale fully equipped models, the 3-D computational stage was also upgraded and CPU optimized, together with more post-processing capabilities, such as surface currents display, extended multi-frequency output of all relevant results starting from one single 3-D run, modeling of lossy dielectric grounds through dedicated PML (perfectly matched layers) boundary conditions, etc.
PAM-CEM Solutions is available on Windows XP or UNIX platforms (HP, SUN and IBM) and for LINUX kernels (32- and 64-bit versions).
