e2v has become a member of Power.org, thus broadening the power architecture ecosystem made of microprocessor manufacturers, software developers, operating system vendors and development tool providers.
Power.org is a community of companies driving innovation around power architecture technology. Comprised of leaders in the technology field, the organization is a framework through which its members engage in collaborative innovation on power architecture technology, with the mission of optimizing interoperability and accelerating innovation to drive increased adoption around the world. e2v joins over 40 members, including Cadence Design Systems, Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing, Freescale Semiconductor, IBM, Jabil Circuit, Novell, P.A. Semi, Red Hat, Synopsys and Thales Computers.
Stressing the significance of the move, Thierry Gouvernel, general manager of e2v’s Broadband Data Converters, Microprocessors and Services (BMS) business unit, commented, “Becoming a member of Power.org is another step in e2v’s commitment to power architecture as the predominant technology for extended reliability markets, such as defense and aerospace. It complements e2v’s long-standing commercial partnership with Freescale Semiconductor and Tundra Semiconductor to provide extended reliability versions of their microprocessors and system interconnect products.”
