WIN Semiconductors announced the availability of a leading edge process design kit (PDK) for Enhancement/Depletion-Mode PHEMT PD50-01 process technology. The WIN PDK, developed for use with Advanced Design System (ADS) from Agilent Technologies, enables radio frequency (RF) and microwave designers to design low cost integrated ICs composed of switches, LNAs, mixers and logic circuitry operating to X-band and beyond.

"WIN Semiconductors is excited to offer this kit to RF design engineers who use the industry-leading Agilent ADS design tools and are looking to minimize design time on the PD50-01 process. This is the first commercially available kit for the PD50-01 process that offers seamless integration between layout and schematic. This will enable our customers to bring their products to market more quickly," said Gary St. Onge , vice president of Technical Marketing at WIN Semiconductors.

The WIN PD50-01 kit supports a complete ADS front-to-back MMIC design flow with DRC and includes microstrip lines, discontinuities, scalable capacitors, inductors and resistors, pads, vias and active devices (HEMT) at multiple biases.

Later this year WIN Semiconductors will offer ADS compatible kits for other processes such as the newly released H2W process which combines E/D PHEMT and HBT technologies.

"We've had a long and productive working relationship with WIN," said Anitha Swaminathan, foundry program manager with Agilent's EEsof EDA division. "With the combination of ADS and the WIN design kits, our mutual customers have access to a powerful, integrated MMIC design solution for a fast and efficient design flow."
