Thales MESL has launched a range of surface-mount X-band packaged drop-in and substrate drop-in, isolators and circulators.
These devices combine small size and low mass with high power handling capabilities (45 W peak or 20 W CW) and low loss (0.2 dB per junction). This example shows where an existing substrate drop-in circulator has been converted to pseudo surface-mount (SMT) using an alumina mother board and wire bonds for the RF links.
