Sirenza Microdevices announced it has been awarded US patent no. 7,218,175 entitled “Dynamic Feedback Linearization.” This new US patent discloses a means for improving linearity and efficiency for a wide breadth of amplifier applications.
“This patent is directly applicable to our core amplifier product lines,” said Kevin Kobayashi, executive engineering fellow. “For example, combined with our two previous bias patents, this dynamic feedback technique can enable a more efficient class of operation for our traditional Darlington feedback amplifier products.
An IP3 to DC power ratio linearity figure of merit of 26.9:1 has been demonstrated at 2 GHz. This is an improvement of three times in linear efficiency over a conventional approach using the same semiconductor technology.”
