To show its commitment to be a leading test provider to ensure the performance of next generation networks, Anritsu participated in the second public mobile WiMAX Forum® PlugFest, an interoperability showcase hosted by AT4 wireless Labs in Malaga, Spain.
The PlugFest provides Mobile WiMAX equipment suppliers an open environment in which to test compatibility and interoperability of equipment in preparation for certification.
Interoperability is the foundation of standardization and the core tenet of the WiMAX Forum's efforts. Certification of Wave 1 mobile WiMAX products is scheduled to begin in mid-2007, with market availability of WiMAX Forum Certified mobile products beginning in late 2007.
"With more than 30 companies participating in this latest mobile WiMAX Forum PlugFest, there is strong momentum and a clear commitment by the WiMAX ecosystem," said Ron Resnick, president and chairman of the WiMAX Forum.
"By the contributions of Anritsu and the other PlugFest participants, these WiMAX Forum interoperability events continue to show a significant leap ahead with maturity of mobile WIMAX products.
Additionally, the experience gained at these PlugFests is critical to improve quality of interoperability testing and to maintain our accelerated path to WiMAX Forum Certification."
