Amphenol RF introduces the new RP-SMA bulkhead jack to AMC4 plug micro-miniature cable assembly into their portfolio of fixed-length cable assemblies. The specially engineered design of the AMC4 right angle plug allows it to be used in applications where space is at a premium. The RP-SMA IP67-rated bulkhead jack ensures waterproof protection in the mated and unmated condition, providing unrelenting connectivity in harsh outdoor environments. Available in standard lengths of 50 to 400 mm, the flexible 1.13 mm coaxial cable attached to the jack and plug is ultra-thin and lightweight, enabling easy routing in compact applications. Supporting frequencies of up to 6 GHz, these high-performance assemblies are ideal for innovative and demanding applications such as IoT, GPS and wireless communication modules.
The body of the RP-SMA bulkhead jack is machined brass which is gold-plated to ensure corrosion resistance, and the beryllium copper contact is also gold-plated to provide reliable performance. The sleeve, inner ferrule, lock washer and hex nut are made from nickel-plated brass. The insulator and insulator disk are crafted from PTFE, while the gasket and O-ring are silicone rubber. AMC4 plugs are made from gold-plated phosphor bronze, while the insulator is molded from PBT. The versatile 1.13 mm micro coaxial cable meets the VW-1 flammability rating.
These assemblies are designed to meet the growing demand for RF interconnects that provide engineers with versatile solutions for unprecedented designs. They join a growing portfolio of cable assemblies available as off-the-shelf solutions. Custom lengths are available upon request.
