EchoStar Mobile, an EchoStar company, announced a strategic partnership with Murata Manufacturing Co. and KYOCERA AVX to bring a highly-effective and unique satellite IoT connectivity solution to the European and North American markets. Designed for industries such as agriculture, smart metering and asset tracking, the new satellite-enabled transceiver and antenna offer real-time, reliable connectivity from sleek, compact hardware that requires low-power consumption. Murata and KYOCERA AVX will both showcase the new connectivity device at their booths during CES 2025 Las Vegas, NV January 7–10. (Murata West Hall #6500 — Kyocera AVX West Hall #4816).
“Our collaboration with Murata and KYOCERA AVX reflects our vision for the future of IoT connectivity,” said Telemaco Melia, vice president and general manager, EchoStar Mobile. “By delivering innovative, high-performance solutions with a minimal footprint, we are enabling industries to reimagine their operations, enhance efficiency and drive transformative growth.”
Industries like smart metering, asset tracking and agriculture rely heavily on IoT solutions but often face connectivity challenges in remote areas. LoRaWAN satellite technology solves this by providing reliable, low-latency connectivity that helps enterprises conduct global supply chain tracking and real-time smart metering.
The innovative solution combines EchoStar Mobile’s carrier-grade S-Band uplink connectivity with Murata’s next-generation Type 2PT LoRa® connectivity module designed for long battery life, as well as KYOCERA AVX’s high-grade, circularly polarized antenna technology. Together, these components provide a compact hardware footprint, superior connectivity, power efficiency and accessible pricing — enabling businesses across a wide range of industries to optimize operations while controlling costs.
“This collaboration brings together the expertise of three market leaders to create a solution that addresses the current inefficiencies in enterprise connectivity services,” said Hirokazu Nakae, GM of Connectivity Module Department, Murata Manufacturing Co. “We believe this three-pronged approach ensures consistent and quality performance that meets remote businesses’ IoT needs.”
“As longstanding manufacturers of electronic components, we’re constantly innovating and improving our technologies to ensure we’re meeting our customers’ needs,” said Carmen Redondo, director of global marketing for antennas at KYOCERA AVX. “Remote IoT connectivity is only becoming more ubiquitous. We’re ensuring industries and their businesses have the proper tools and technology to succeed in this new environment.”
