- FWA will finally take off and fulfill the promise of mmWave Technology
- Gen AI will continue to dominate the conversation in 2025 but will fade off toward the end of the year as hype subsides and data sourcing becomes a problem
- 5G NTN networks will be one of the hottest topics as operations implement this service
- 5G RedCap will enable IoT applications to finally take off in high volumes but security concerns will linger throughout the year
- Drone and hypersonic missile defeat will be the hottest A&D topics and RF technologies will be at the forefront in these systems
- Chiplet connectivity and heat sinking will be the focus of packaging technology
- 4D automotive radar will start hitting the market in volume – 4D imaging radar will be hot in development
- The CHIPS Act will continue to fund new fabs in the US but will realize by year end there will be too much capacity and shortages of labor so will cancel some programs
- Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces (RIS) will become a major focus for 6G research
