Pendulum Instruments announced the release of the new FTR-210R GNSS disciplined Rubidium Frequency and Time Reference.
The FTR-210R is an ultra-stable frequency and time reference with unique built-in optional traceability to UTC. The internal rubidium atomic clock is controlled by the GNSS, e.g. GPS, Galileo, Beidou and Glonass, to provide a frequency stability of 1x 10-12 and an industry leading time offset to UTC of 10 ns rms.
A unique feature is the parallel, continuous and independent time and frequency comparison with the broadcasted GNSS signals, to provide a continuous calibration of the FTR-210R output to UTC(GPS). This comparison data is available to the user, who can download at any time a true traceability document with offset to UTC and with stated uncertainty. Thanks to this optional feature, the user does not need to send the frequency and time reference for yearly accredited calibration, thereby saving cost and eliminating down-time.
Other options include a measurement input for frequency and time parameters from DC to 400 MHz, converting the FTR-210R into a one-box frequency and time calibrator with ultra-high performance. Measurement results are given as numerical, statistical and graphical data. When combined with the traceability option, fully traceable calibration reports of the connected device under test can be generated for upload to a PC.
Standard reference frequencies are 5x 10 MHz and 1x 5 MHz. Options include a programmable pulse generator from 0.5 Hz to 100 MHz, in addition to four optional outputs of 4x 10 MHz sine, 0.1/1/5/10 MHz sine or 4x 1 pps (pulse per second). Ethernet, either wired or wireless, uses the built-in VPN and webserver for local or remote control, monitoring, alarm handling and instrument data download. Prices start at 7500 USD.
“We have successfully supplied hundreds of our legacy traceable GPS-89 GPS-controlled rubidium frequency references around the globe for many years. We have listened to our customers’ wishes for improvements, and I am pleased to announce that we have now added GNSS, ultra-high-stability 1 pps, optional measurement input and Ethernet web server functionality, without sacrificing the traceability, the ultra-high frequency performance, and the ease-of-use of GPS-89,” says Harald Kruger, CEO of Pendulum Instruments.
“With the new FTR-210R we now offer an optimal and cost-efficient solution to our customers in high-end metrology, military and leading industrial companies. For our customers, especially the built-in traceability option means 100 percent confidence for continuous correct operation, cost saving and no down-time due to calibration," Kruger concluded.
