KRYTAR, Inc. announces two new directional couplers operating in the wideband frequency range of 1.7 to 20.0 GHz (L- through K-Bands) offering nominal coupling of 20 dB and 30 dB. These new couplers offer the ultimate solution for emerging designs and test and measurement applications including wireless communications, radar and satellite communications (satcom).

KRYTAR’s new directional coupler, model 101720020, offers superior performance ratings including nominal coupling (with respect to output) of 20 dB, ±1.8 dB. Frequency sensitivity is ±1.8 dB. The directional coupler exhibits insertion loss (including coupled power) of less than 1.0 dB, directivity of >10 dB and maximum VSWR is 1.45 at any port.

Both directional couplers offer input power rating of 20 W average and 3 kW peak. The directional couplers come with industry-standard 3.5 mm Female connectors and optional 3.5 mm male connectors. Each compact package measures just 2.40 x 0.53 x 0.69 in. and weighs only 2.1 ounces. Operating temperature is -54°C to 85°C.

KRYTAR’s extended family of directional couplers are uniquely designed for systems applications where external leveling, precise monitoring, signal mixing or swept transmission and reflection measurements are required. KRYTAR couplers offer solutions for many ultra-broadband applications including electronic warfare (EW), mmWave, 5G NR, Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6E, satcom, radar, MIMO radio links, signal monitoring and measurement, antenna beamforming and electromagnetic compatibility testing environments. Many KRYTAR products can meet the rigorous demands of both space and thermal vacuum applications.
