Astronics Corporation, a supplier of advanced technologies and products to the global aerospace, defense and other mission-critical industries, announced the launch of the ATS-6100 Radio Test Set (RTS), a next-generation handheld testing solution for military tactical radios. Initially developed for the U.S. Marine Corps' Handheld Radio Test Set (HHRTS) Program, the ATS-6100 RTS is now commercially available, offering a comprehensive suite of over 19 instruments to detect faults and verify the operational readiness of radio communications across all deployment levels.

The ATS-6100 RTS supports a wide range of communication systems, including SINCGARS, SRW, WNW, HAVEQUICK, and more, ensuring that both legacy and modern mission-critical communications systems function as intended. Astronics also offers a comprehensive library of test program sets (TPSs) for tactical radios from virtually any original equipment manufacturer, enhancing the system’s versatility. As a software-driven platform, it is equipped to accommodate future waveform upgrades, and its intuitive, Windows 10-based user interface features guided test scripts, enabling fully automated testing of tactical radios, which reduces the time and cost associated with training.

Jim Mulato, president of Astronics Test Systems, commented, "This next-gen handheld radio test solution empowers users on the front lines, or in any critical location, with unmatched testing capabilities to ensure the performance of their essential communications systems. By providing a complete solution for testing both legacy and modern waveforms, our customers will benefit from reduced life-cycle ownership costs, repair expenses and training costs."

The ATS-6100 RTS includes over 19 synthetic instruments that deliver precise, detailed testing and diagnostics, leading to fewer "no fault found" results.  Its rugged design, combined with a lightweight form factor of less than 11 pounds, makes it the ideal field-portable solution for I- and O-level testing.
