AnaPico has introduced several notable optional features to its APVSG series of Vector Signal Generators, designed specifically for phased-array radar systems.
In addition to I/Q file handling capabilities, the APVSG can now upload Pulse Descriptor Words (PDWs) into its internal memory for playback and stream them through the Fast Control Port (FCP). AnaPico has also enhanced the firmware with a new option, PCM (Phase Calibratable Mode), which enables efficient system-level amplitude and phase calibration. This advancement significantly reduces the number of required calibration/measurement points, and the measured data can be stored back into the APVSG for precise amplitude and phase correction across multi-channel systems.
The APVSG series is available in both Single- and Multi-Channel versions. The Multi-Channel models feature phase-coherent and time-synchronized channels, even when comprising dozens of channels from multiple modules.
These additional features make the cost-effective APVSG product line a valuable asset in the radar signal generation market. The series is both affordable and easy to calibrate.
Key specifications include:
- Each channel supports a wide-band frequency range up to 4, 6, 12, 20, or 40 GHz.
- Instant modulation bandwidth of 400 MHz.
- Frequency switching time typically at 2 µs (applicable to all band crossings).
- I/Q and PDW streaming rate of 256 MSa/s.
- Channel density of 4 channels per 2 HU rack-mountable module.
