On Wednesday, June 19 at 10:45 at the MicroApps Theater, Andrew Laundrie, Senior Design Engineer at Eravant, will present Active Emissivity Correction In Millimeter-Wave Radiometric Temperature Sensors. Learn about how Millimeter-wave radiometric receivers are often used to determine the temperature or emissivity of an object by measuring its radiated noise power over a wide bandwidth. The non-contact technique offers several advantages over other measurement methods, including fast measurements and high sensitivity to small temperature changes. A limitation is the need to know a priori the object’s emissivity when computing its temperature or its temperature when computing its emissivity. Presented is a method of actively measuring an object’s emissivity by illuminating it with a broad-band noise source, and measuring both its reflectivity and temperature using the radiometric receiver.

Eravant’s booth will be located at Booth #1939.
