Valvo Bauelemente GmbH (Valvo), of Hamburg, Germany, a leading European manufacturer of high-power microwave and RF components, announces it is rebranding and unveiling a new name, Microwave Techniques GmbH. This announcement comes as part of a strategic alignment with its parent company, Microwave Techniques LLC, a global leader in high-power microwave and RF solutions.
In 2023, Microwave Techniques acquired Valvo (now Microwave Techniques GmbH), to take advantage of synergies across teams, facilities, products and resources in the USA and Germany.
Since then, the combined company has continued exploration of advanced research and development of its design, engineering and manufacturing of circulators, isolators, loads and windows, as well as further innovations for various high-power microwave and RF component product lines.
The acquisition and integration of Microwave Techniques GmbH has created a leading global producer of 2.45 GHz, WR284 (R32), WR340 (R26), and WR430 (R22) waveguide components and technology, with a focus on circulators, isolators, loads and windows in European and global markets. It has also enabled further synergies across the product lines, operations, facilities and teams in both Germany and the USA.
“The rebranding and name change from Valvo to Microwave Techniques GmbH creates a stronger, unified identity for the organization and employees across all locations and operations. We want to reinforce to our customers that we will bring all of our global resources to bear to help address their RF applications, regardless of location,” said Jim Detert, CEO.
“Through the now more visible affiliation with the Microwave Techniques group, Microwave Techniques GmbH is strengthening its location in Germany and Europe. The new level of know-how, based on the Microwave Techniques group experience and a larger product range created from the acquisition will be a benefit for our customers,” said Markus Bremer, managing director.
Microwave Techniques GmbH engineering and manufacturing operations will remain in Hamburg, Germany, at its microwave and RF component manufacturing facility and R&D laboratory. It will continue to produce all legacy components while maintaining the same level of excellence and quality its customers have come to expect over the years.
Microwave Techniques LLC remains headquartered at its campus in Gorham, Maine, and its industrial microwave systems factory in Nashua, N.H.
