Join us in Long Beach, CA, for the 2nd Radio & Wireless Week (RWW) events January 7–12, 2007, not only to learn about the latest technological, scientific and commercial developments, but also to see friends and experience the Southern California lifestyle with excellent climate, food and shoreline beauty, all wrapped in one package. The RWW collocates three prestigious conferences and one major commercial exhibition. The overall focus is on key technologies from device level to system level for advancement of the current radio and wireless systems as well as creating new concepts and breakthroughs for next generation networks. The centerpiece of the week is the IEEE Radio and Wireless Symposium (RWS), which continues the evolution of the successful Radio and Wireless Conference (RAWCON). Three IEEE Societies support the RWS – the ComSoc and AP provide technical co-sponsorship and the MTT provides sponsorship. The RWS brings together a unique mix of communications systems and RF implementations via high-quality invited and contributed papers, a rump session, workshops and short courses. Don’t miss our daily Special Invited Session, "Enabling Technologies for the Next Generation Radio and Wireless Networks," lectured by world-class speakers from industry and academia.
The IEEE Topical Symposium on Power Amplifiers for Wireless Communications (PAS) and the Topical Meeting on Silicon Monolithic Integrated Circuits in RF Systems (SiRF) are also key parts of the program. The PAS has been bringing leading RF power amplifier engineers together for many years, and will continue that tradition. SiRF has for years presented the latest in silicon RF technologies and applications and will continue its strong tradition.
With these three conferences and a large commercial exhibition along with social events including free receptions and daily breakfast and lunch, we offer you a convenient opportunity to get a comprehensive update in all the technical and commercial facets of the rapidly changing radio and wireless landscape. I look forward to welcoming you to Long Beach!
The IEEE Radio & Wireless Symposium (RWS) has developed into one of the leading international multidisciplinary forums for reporting the latest breakthroughs in RF technology development and wireless systems. In continuing the legacy of last year's programs and under the technical sponsorship of the IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society (MTT-S), the IEEE Communication Society (ComSoc) and the IEEE Antenna and Propagation Society (AP-S), this year’s technical program features core technologies for next generation wireless networks and communication system design, as well as RF, microwave and millimeter-wave technologies. Emphasizing on the technological overlap of software and hardware aspects for traditional and emerging wireless applications, we present the up-to-the-last minute achievements in eight technical areas including MIMO Technologies, Wireless Communication Systems, Wireless Sensors/Ad Hoc Networks, Emerging Technologies, Front-End Electronics, Antennas, Signal Generation/Power Amplification and RF/Analog ICs for Wireless Communication.
RWS 2007 will offer you a wide scope of technical activities that we hope you will find stimulating. This year there were 255 submissions from 31 countries (five continents) worldwide, reflecting the vitality and steady growth of our Symposium. After careful review, the committee selected 111 papers for regular and invited papers scheduled for presentation in 25 podium sessions and two poster sessions over three days covering the complete range of RWS technical interests. We keep our tradition this year by starting each podium session with an invited talk.
After the opening remarks and keynote address in the plenary session, we begin our technical program Tuesday morning with a special invited session (TU2A) on "Enabling Technologies for the Next Generation Radio and Wireless Networks." This special invited session will continue on Wednesday (WE2A) and Thursday (TH2A) at the same time. Tuesday morning will start with six podium and one poster session before the day finishes. On Tuesday evening, we have the rump session at 8PM to discuss UWB marketplace arrival. Wednesday is also a full day with 10 podium sessionArranged by major product type and application area, each section of the catalog contains a tutorial on test-system design and use with practical tips to help users avoid common measurement errors, increase productivity, and lower their cost of test. s and the Wednesday poster session. We continue on Thursday with eight podium sessions. There will be 34 papers for poster presentations on Tuesday as well as on Wednesday starting at 3PM.
In addition, there will be an exceptionally comprehensive program of workshops, short courses and a focused session. There have been 12 papers nominated for final competition at the Student Paper Contest this year; the winners will be announced and presented with their prizes at the Symposium Banquet on Wednesday, January 10, 2007.
