Verus® Research, a New Mexico-based team of scientists and engineers specializing in advanced research and development, announced its largest contract to date. The company was awarded a $203 million ceiling increase on its current indefinite delivery indefinite quality (IDIQ) contract with the U.S. Army’s Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI). The Test and Evaluation Non-Kinetic (TEN-K) contract enables Verus Research to further improve the U.S. Department of Defense’s ability to test the effectiveness of rapidly developing non-kinetic capabilities including directed energy, electronic warfare and nuclear systems.
“We are thrilled to receive a ceiling increase in our contract with PEO STRI, making it the largest in our company’s history. This underscores the U.S. Army’s high level of satisfaction with our performance, as well as highlights our innovative planning and strategic vision for future initiatives with this important customer,” said Dan Treibel, chief operating officer with Verus Research, “This award affirms that Verus Research is considered the industry leader in directed energy technologies and diagnostic systems.”
Verus Research’s work with PEO STRI will serve to create enhanced and enduring capabilities for the nation’s Major Range and Test Facility Base infrastructure. The IDIQ contract includes the design and development of agile surrogate high-power microwave systems; the creation of specialized sensors, instrumentation and diagnostics required to validate performance of non-kinetic systems; and the continued development of the company’s defense plasma focus capability.
