Alcatel has opened an Accredited Training centre in Midrand, South Africa, which complies with the Alcatel University accreditation requirements. The new facility will provide training on the latest enterprise solutions and help develop channel partners and other industry participants' skills.

This training centre will contribute to develop local skills, and will make a significant contribution to the company's commitment to the Black Economic Empowerment program as it will train and accredit BEE Channel Partners to distribute, install and maintain the company’s enterprise solutions. The partners can either be direct or indirect depending on the level of accreditation achieved and this will give an assurance to the end user in terms of the quality of the service provided.

Eddie Mcalone, general manager for Alcatel enterprise solutions activities in South and East Africa, said, "Alcatel is very glad to make this significant contribution towards skills development to South Africa and its neighbor countries. Instead of our partners and customers having to travel to Europe, they can now be trained in South Africa at this world class facility on the premises of Alcatel in Midrand."
