Junkosha unveiled its new Cable Assembly Designer; a product selection tool for Junkosha’s microwave and mmWave coaxial cable assemblies that are customisable to a host of test and measurement, high frequency needs within mobile communication technology, space and defence applications, at European Microwave Week (EuMW) in Milan. Junkosha will use this event to present its online tool to assist RF engineers and program managers in selecting the right cable for their application. It will be showcased alongside the company’s precision engineered cable assembly solutions.
With this tool, users can pre-select their desired usage conditions and apply various filters such as frequency, phase stability performance and applications to generate a list of products that best meet their requirements. In addition to this, the new Cable Assembly Designer automatically calculates and confirms electrical characteristics necessary for product selection thereby making it easy to use, particularly when the product model number is unknown and needs to be specified independent of the connector.
“With the Cable Assembly Designer, Junkosha is meeting the needs of customer groups who are looking to increase the flexibility and custom design options for their cable assembly in an effortless way. The tool assists with choosing the right cable for a given application from an assortment of connectors and cable options that exist within Junkosha’s portfolio; and it includes key performance parameters to better equip decision making,” explained Masaru Omoto, product manager for Junkosha. “Alongside this latest online tool, we are taking the opportunity at this year’s European Microwave Week to showcase our wide breadth of high-end cable assembly solutions. Featuring the highest performing dielectric material and high flex life thanks to Junkosha’s precision engineered expanded-PTFE tape wrapping technology, each cable is designed to provide the highest reliability for testing and calibration purposes.”
Over the last 18 months, Junkosha have launched several high-end mmWave cable assembly solutions that withstand the technical challenges of higher frequency accuracy and operate effectively in environments with high flexure and temperature change. Whether its defence radar architectures, 5G antennas or automatic test environments, changing temperature gradients are an issue that require mitigation. In answer to these requirements, Junkosha is providing visitors to its EuMW stand information around a wide range of its innovative cable assembly solutions including the MWX7 Series, the vector network analyser test assembly and the MWX0 Series.
Omoto continued, “In the future, we intend to expand our online tool to include other product categories, making it accessible as an e-commerce interface that allows users to select and place orders anytime. We are ultimately committed to further enhancing the convenience of small-lot, high-quality, quick-delivery production at our plants in Japan. This growing emphasis on exceptional and consistent service across channels is fuelled by Junkosha’s continual goal to be customers’ number one partner by not only listening to their requirements but also providing them with no surprises, in other words being easy to do business with.”
