Saelig Company, Inc. has launched a new range of surface-mount temperature-compensated crystal oscillators (TCXO) offering a frequency stability as low as ±2.5 ppm. The new EM211T series is available with CMOS outputs in frequencies from 10 to 60 MHz. The standard output frequencies available are 12, 20, 24, 25, 26, 40, 50 and 60 MHz. The components are housed in a standard format 6-pad 2.0 x 1.36 mm SMD ceramic package with hermetically sealed metal lid. Power supply voltage options are 1.8, 2.5 and 3.3 V ±5 percent with current consumption of 8 mA maximum at 3.3 V.
The new EM211T series oscillators are ideal for use in applications where high accuracy and a miniature package is important, making these TCXOs particularly suitable for embedded and portable systems. With LVCMOS output into a 15 pF load, frequency dependent tolerances are available from ±2.5 to ±10 ppm over the industrial temperature range (-40°C to +85°C). Typical SSB phase noise at 25°C is between -85 and -154 dBc/Hz for 50 MHz frequency output. Frequency stability is specified as ±1.0 ppm maximum against aging in first year, ±0.3 ppm maximum against voltage change for ±5 percent change, ±0.3 ppm maximum against load change for ±10 percent change and ±1.0 ppm maximum against reflow (SMD type) for one reflow, measured after 24 hours.
Additional specifications include rise/fall time of 10 ns maximum, duty cycle of 50 percent ±5 percent as standard and output enable/disable function as standard. Initial calibration tolerance is less than ±2 ppm at 25°C ±2°C. Storage temperature range is -55 to +125°C.
Made in Europe by frequency specialist Euroquartz Ltd., the EM211T series TCXOs are available from their technical distributor Saelig.
