AWR Design Environment® software will be showcased as part of Cadence® RF and systems offerings at the European Microwave Week 2020 virtual conference and exhibition, being presented January 10-14, with on-demand viewing through February 5.
In addition to product demonstrations in the exhibition, AWR® software will be featured in the “Practical Workshop: Build a Frequency-Modulated Continuous Wave Radar in One Day,” presented by Dr. David Ricketts of the North Carolina State University as part of the fifth European Microwave Student School. Attendees will learn the theory and design of a frequency-modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radar, including the power amplifier, low-noise amplifier, directional coupler and antenna. They will design each component, including layout, and perform an electromagnetic simulation. They will then fabricate the components by hand and measure them with a vector network analyzer (VNA) laptop extension to obtain the S-parameters of each component to see how well the design works. Materials and VNA extension will be provided by the instructor.
