To meet the challenging requirements of LTE and 5G NR infrastructure, Skyworks has released two low noise amplifiers (LNA) offering excellent linearity and broad frequency coverage. To reduce PCB board space, the LNAs are in a 2 mm x 2 mm, eight pin plastic surface-mount package.

The SKY67183-396LF covers 400 MHz to 6 GHz and has typical noise figures of 0.41 and 0.5 dB at 2.5 and 4.5 GHz, respectively. Typical gain is 21.4 and 18.2 dB and OIP3 is 32.7 and 29 dBm at these same frequencies.

The SKY67189-396LF also covers 400 MHz to 6 GHz and has a typical noise figure of 0.75 dB, measured at 3.3 and 5 GHz, with corresponding gains of 18.6 and 17.3 dB. OIP3 at these same two frequencies is 29 and 27 dBm.

Both LNAs are biased with 5 V and typically draw 52 to 56 mA.

These LNAs were developed for cellular infrastructure systems, including small cell, massive MIMO and macro base stations.
