Complying with an order by the Mexican Ministry of Health, Skyworks has temporarily suspended operations at its facility in Mexicali, to help limit the spread of infection caused by the coronavirus.

In a press release, Skyworks said closing the Mexicali facility through April 30 will not have a significant impact on shipments or financial performance; beyond that date, the closure will likely hurt its ability to meet customer demand and affect financial performance.

On March 31, the Mexican Ministry of Health issued an order suspending all non-essential public and private sector business through April 30. Complying with the order, Skyworks stopped operations and directed its workforce in Mexico to follow the “remain at home” directive.

At its other locations, which continue to operate, Skyworks has implemented multiple protocols, including remote work and rotating shifts with reduced staffing at its manufacturing sites. For employees working in Skyworks' facilities, the company has implemented social distancing, pre-shift temperature screening, enhanced use of personal protective equipment and heightened sanitation.

In the release, Skyworks said revenue for the second fiscal quarter of 2020 ended March 27, 2020, was $766.1 million, slightly above the midpoint of the revised range Skyworks provided on March 4. It said non-GAAP diluted earnings per share will be in line with the revised guidance.
