Anokiwave has appointed William “Bill” Nevius as vice president and general manager of its aerospace and defense (A&D) portfolio. In this role, he will lead the development of strategic defense accounts to grow Anokiwave’s business in satellite communications, radar, EW, communications and space programs.

Joining Anokiwave in March, Nevius brings 30 years experience in the defense systems industry, working at Ball Aerospace as director of C3I, director of business development, advanced systems manager and program manager.

He has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the U.S. Air Force Academy and a master’s in aeronautical engineering from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School. Nevius graduated from the U.S. Naval Test Pilot School and Navy Fighter Weapons School.

Anokiwave said Nevius’ background as a naval aviator and defense industry executive brings insight into the needs of the A&D market from his personal experience.

“Bill is a recognized leader in the aerospace and defense industry and is already exposing Anokiwave to new opportunities and customers,” said Carl Frank, Anokiwave’s chief operating officer.

His appointment comes at a strategic time for Anokiwave, as it seeks growth by applying its mmWave commercial silicon RFIC capability to A&D systems. While Anokiwave has been providing mmWave solutions to the A&D market for more than 20 years, Nevius will provide a more strategic focus on the defense community.
