TMD Technologies (TMD) has invested in Diamond Microwave, a developer of solid-state power amplifiers using GaN and GaAs devices based in the U.K. TMD, an equipment supplier also based in the U.K., did not disclose the amount of the investment.

Diamond Microwave develops and manufactures compact GaN-based, chip-and-wire power amplifiers for radar, electronic warfare, aerospace and communications markets. The company says the power-to-volume performance of its power amplifiers differentiates it from other offerings in the market.

Dave Brown, TMD CEO, said “Their specialized technological expertise has proved particularly successful across the aerospace and defence industries and complements our current technologies targeted at this market sector.”

TMD has been working with Diamond Microwave for several years, and this investment extends the relationship.

Richard Lang, Diamond Microwave CEO, said, “TMD is an ideal partner for DML, bringing the possibility of new channels through which to develop and exploit our solid-state power amplifier technology.”
