Skyworks announced its latest switch solution for mobile antenna applications, the SKY13699-21 DPDT switch, which enables main and diversity antenna swapping and provides exceptional insertion loss and isolation in a compact package, minimizing signal loss and footprint challenges for system designers.

Intelligent antenna management plays a critical role in today’s high performance smartphones, particularly with the onset of 5G and the addition of new bands and performance requirements. Switching between antennas to achieve the best transmit power and receive sensitivity is integral to reducing dropped calls.

Skyworks' innovative SKY13699-21 DPDT switch enables main and diversity antenna swapping for 4G LTE and 5G, spanning low, mid, high and ultra-high bands — up to 6 GHz and including the 5G New Radio bands n77 and n79. With high linearity and low harmonics under varying VSWR and high ESD protection, the SKY13699-21 is well-suited for next-generation mobile architectures.

Typical switch insertion loss is 0.3 dB at 1 GHz and 1 dB at 5.9 GHz, with 32 dB isolation at 3.8 GHz. The switch is controlled with a single positive voltage between 1.35 to 2.8 V.
