High-Performance Spaceflight Cables with Proven Heritage
Gore’s cables ensure power is delivered safely and reliably while improving signal speed and integrity among electrical systems in the challenging environmental conditions of outer space. With specialized insulation materials that are more durable, these small, lightweight cables have been thoroughly tested and are ESA-qualified according to ESCC specifications for long-lasting performance. The high flexibility and tight bend radius of these cables also facilitate easy installation and routing.
GORE® Space Cables, Type GBL provide outstanding signal transmission up to 1 GHz in dataline applications. The small size and low mass of this cable help minimize the problems associated with balancing difficult weight issues on larger or more substantial devices. Typical applications include digital signal processors, high speed subsystems and high-resolution cameras, sensors, and detectors. Program heritage includes Express MD1/MD2, Intermediate eXperimental Vehicles (IXV), International Space Station (ISS), James Webb Space Telescope (JWST), NASA Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter and XMM.
GORE® Space Cables, Type SpaceWire provide bi-directional, high speed data transmission up to 400 Mbit/s with minimal crosstalk, signal attenuation and low skew. Using a serial, point-to-point dataline with Low Voltage Differential Signaling (LVDS), this cable can be integrated into many different satellite programs without requiring any custom design. Typical applications include high-resolution cameras, radar sensor equipment and sensor, mass memory unit and telemetry subsystem interconnections. Program heritage includes Automated Transfer Vehicles (ATV), James Webb Space Telescope (JWST), KAI and SDO.
