RFMW Ltd. announces design and sales support for a DOCSIS 3.1 compliant return path amplifier. The Qorvo QPB3321 is an HBT, single-ended, RF amplifier IC operating from 5 to 210 MHz. Designed to provide a low noise, high gain option, it uses an 8 V power supply to provide lower overall power dissipation. 5 V operation is possible in applications with reduced linearity and gain requirements. Typical gain is 17.5 dB in 8 V operation. Applications range from Head-End CMTS equipment and post amplifiers for return path optical receivers to residential amplifiers and splitters. The QPB3321 is packaged in a convenient SOIC8 package and features an externally adjustable bias control.
