UMS has introduced a state of the art fully integrated 24 GHz transceiver solution for industrial sensor and car radar applications. Based on a radar architecture, the CHC2442-QPG addresses sensor applications in the 24 GHz ISM band. It provides a fully integrated front-end and offers a high level of flexibility, which can make it the basis for a wide range of industrial sensors, from short range car applications to robotic and peripheral security systems.
The CHC2442-QPG includes signal generation Tx and dual reception Rx in a single component. This solution is claimed to offer leading edge performance due to a low phase noise VCO, a high transmit power level, dual Rx with very low noise figures combined with a high level of isolation between Tx and Rx channels. It also includes power and temperature monitors and a programmable pre-scaler.
It is fully compatible with standard digital interfaces through a serial interface (SPI) with data read and write capabilities. It is available in a surface mount QFN plastic package and is qualified to AEC-Q100. The high level of integration and state of the art performance make this product a suitable solution for industrial sensor and automotive applications.
