Sivers IMA has launched its next generation converter for E-Band radio links, which is based on the company’s proprietary SiGe chip and offers a cost-effective and high-performance solution for those who develop and market radio links or test and measurement equipment for manufacturing of radio links and devices.
According to the Cisco visual Networking Index the demand for data will increase nearly tenfold between 2014 and 2019. Telecom operators are under continuous pressure to provide more capacity at lower price and with limited availability of natural resources in terms of frequency spectrum. This drives radio link suppliers to search for new solutions. Taking advantage of the E-Band frequency is one of the most cost effective solutions.
“We understand the challenges in the market and we are pleased to be able to provide a cost–effective millimeter-wave converter suitable for all suppliers of radio links as well as of test and measurement equipment”, said Robert Ekström CEO of Sivers IMA.
The new converter from Sivers IMAs is designed to support very advanced modulation schemes, which is claimed to enable record breaking capacities of up to 10 Gbps. Converters are now available as engineering samples and in production volumes will become available during Q4 2015.
