e2v, a leading global provider of innovative technology for high performance systems and equipment, is expanding its microwave business unit to a new, larger site in Lincoln, UK.
As part of the organisation’s growth strategy, new jobs will be created in the region, with the move for the Microwave business unit due to complete by 18 December 2015.
The new 1,400 m2 development and manufacturing space at Firth Road will assist e2v in delivering its growth plans, supporting market demand for new products and more efficient delivery for customers. The same can be said for the Electronic Safety & Initiation business, which will remain at Sadler Road, and will utilise the new-found space for its own business development.
Stuart Smith, Vice President of the Microwave business unit at e2v, commented, “This expansion enables us to bring design and manufacturing into one location, resulting in more efficient delivery of e2v Microwave products to meet the needs of our customers.”
The move will assist in strengthening the company’s long-standing links with the University of Lincoln’s School of Engineering and School of Mathematics and Physics, with course specific scholarships now available in each, sponsored by e2v, for the next three years. This underpins the company’s support for the University of Lincoln and is in addition to the existing funding provided for an e2v Technology Research Associate within the School of Engineering.
