Anite, a global leader in wireless equipment testing technology, announced today that it has introduced support for Coordinated Multipoint (“CoMP”) in its interoperability, performance and conformance device test solutions SAS and Conformance Toolset.
CoMP, a key feature in LTE-Advanced, improves the coverage and data throughput for cell-edge users by dynamically coordinating transmission and reception of multiple, geographically separated base stations. This improves network utilisation, reduces interference and enhances reception. The end-user benefits from improved quality of experience with access to higher data rates, irrespective of whether they are close to the centre of an LTE cell or at the cell-edge.
Anite’s SAS and Conformance Toolset device test solutions support uplink and downlink CoMP as well as different Transmit Modes (TM) including TM 10, as per 3GPP standards.
Paul Beaver, products director at Anite’s Device & Infrastructure Testing business comments, “The introduction of CoMP support reinforces Anite’s technology leadership position in device test solutions. Other recent LTE-A technology feature introductions include support for Cat 9/10, FeICIC (Further enhanced Inter-Cell Interference Coordination) and Uplink Carrier Aggregation.”
SAS – Anite’s user-friendly interoperability and performance test solution – forms a key part of major mobile operators’ device acceptance programmes. Anite’s conformance test solution – Conformance Toolset – offers leading GCF and PTCRB test case coverage.
